Dungeon Siege 2 Camera Fix/Mod

You are here because you hate the way the camera in DS2 restricts your movement. You demand to be able to look at your character from above or below, from far or really really close up. You also don't want to spend all afternoon hacking the darn thing, you want a one-click solution!

Included in the zip are:

• xdelta.exe the patching utility, if you think I put a virus in it, please download it from the sourceforge site: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xdelta
• patchWorld.bat, a super simple DOS script that runs xdelta.exe with...
• patchFile.bin, the actual patch file, which turns World.ds2map into cameraFixWorld.ds2map

Installation instructions

1. Patch your DS2 to version 2.2! Any other version will not work, including 2.3+
2. Extract the DS2cameraFixPatch.zip in /Dungeon Siege 2/maps (this folder will contain one map, World.ds2map after installing DS2).
3. Click on patchWorld.bat
4. You will now have cameraFixWorld.ds2map in your maps folder. You will also have maps/backup/World.ds2map so you can restore the old map (ie: if you need to upgrade your DS2).
5. PLAY! Unleash your camera! Play first person style... almost. Also, don't worry about your save games, this mod has NO effect whatsoever on them (but no warranty either, hehe).

Why?

Because someone posted some hideous instructions on Herena Forge (for fixing the camera), and I litterally ended up reformatting my C drive (that was probably a mistake on my part in my over-zealous attempt to free space) and spending an entire day before I got it working. I figure if a computer science student had a tad bit of difficulty, the average person is doomed. Also, I wanted to see how hard/easy it is to patch a binary file (answer: easy).

But what if I want more camera control? Or if my version is not 2.2?
