Discussion:

  • The big picture for MSDL GUI group
  • : Professor Vangheluwe explained to me Denis' work in the area of models layout. Since AToM3 is a multi-formalism tool, a decision had to be made about how to handle layouting a multi-formalism model. There are two type of layout techniques: Nested Layouting, and Scoped Layouting. Professor Vangheluwe and Denis have came to the decision to not worry about scoping at this point. By Nested Layout they mean that each formalism in a multi-formalism model has its own layout algorithm.
On the other hand, Francois is working on bringing together concrete syntax, abstract syntax, semantics, and behavior.
At this point it is still not clear how Denis' work, Francois' work, and my work integrate together. But as we progress in our projects this should become clearer.
  • GUI-specific Formalism: This is the formalosm that we discussed in a previous meeting. The implementation of this formalism is going to be my first goal.
